How it all began.....

Hi, I’m Tammy, thanks for stopping by! This is how it all began.....

I have been photographing weddings for 20 years now. Oh my, that's a LOT of weddings! I shot my first wedding as the lead photographer in March of 2005 and never looked back. I was taking a photography class at a local votech in 2004 and met a girl there with whom I became instant friends. She was shooting a few weddings here and there so I offered to assist her on some of her weddings. That really helped me get the confidence I needed to begin shooting weddings on my own. Even after all these years, I still LOVE this work! But I first fell in love with photography as a young girl, but never thought of being a photographer. I loved scrapbooking as a young mom, so one year for Christmas my husband bought me a nice SLR camera. When my babies were little, I spent countless hours posing them, creating backdrops, practicing lighting techniques, then, as soon as I finished a roll, I'd drive to a nearby town 30 miles away and drop my film off at the one hour lab. I can't tell you how many rolls of film I went through and how many trips to Ada I made with my babies in tow waiting for the one hour photo lab to develop my photos. This was where it began, and now when I look back, I still can't believe this is where my path ended up. Being a photographer has been a dream come true for me. I know that it’s a blessing from God to have this gift. I’m thankful to Him for this incredible journey. I live on farm in rural Oklahoma with my high school sweetheart. We are about to celebrate 30 years of marriage and we have 3 beautiful children, who are really no longer children, but they are still my babies!  We have 3 beautiful little grandboys who visit us a lot and we love chasing them around, loading them up to go feed the cows.

I really do feel blessed that I am to be able to do something I honestly love so much. I truly believe weddings are more than just a happy day for couples. It's a celebration of love and family. I want to capture those connections and freeze them forever in time.
